The hostelry industry may have regarded the Málaga Feria 2013 as one of the worst for many years, but the first official report on the economic impact of the event claims it was a great success, even better than Easter.
The city apparently benefited to the tune of €35 million from the 337,000 visitors, with hotels registering an average occupancy of 86%, a figure described by the Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Damián Caneda, as ‘magnificent’ as there was no public holiday involved.
According to the report, the aspects most appreciated by visitors were the friendliness of the people, the culture, gastronomy and value for money. The most criticised aspects were cleanliness and parking difficulties.
