Four months after project details were published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), the grandiose plan of the Ports Authority to turn dock 1 of Málaga port into a sports marina for large, high-class yachts has yielded a grand total of zero bids. No-one has even requested more information or details.
The bidding period closes on October 3rd and there has been no interest shown in either the construction or the exploitation of the marina and, if there are no last minute bids, the authorities will have to rethink the project.
The project gives priority to yachts over twenty-five metres in length, the idea being to give the area an attractive image similar to that offered in Puerto Banus.
