A new opinion poll carried out by Metroscopia for the newspaper El Pais suggests that although the approval rating of the ruling Partido Popular (PP) is at an all-time low, they would still win an election if it were held now.
According to the poll, the PP hold a five point lead over the opposition. The poll also shows that 57% of those surveyed believe that the road to recovery in Spain is still a long one and 37% believe that it still has to get worse before it gets better.
This latest survey shows that the PP would receive 34.1 percent of the votes while the Socialists would manage 29 percent.
