The Council is anticipating the opening of a new Tourist Office in the historical centre of Vélez-Málaga at the end of this month.
The Council has awarded €67,000 to a company to run the facility as the Department of Tourism does not have the staff available to meet the demands of running the office.
The new office will be open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00 and on public holidays and Sundays it will be open in the morning.
The concessionaire will be responsible for hiring staff, a total of three, but the Council has set down a number of requirements, such as a knowledge of English and German languages and experience in customer service.
