A third attempt is being made today, Wednesday, to fumigate the Asta Regia school in Jerez after a serious flea infestation and the facility will be closed until Friday.
The problem was first noticed nearly two weeks ago when pupils complained of being bitten. The school was fumigated but it didn’t solve the problem and a second attempt was made last Friday.
This attempt also failed and many parents failed to take their children to school. The centre has now been closed until Friday for another attempt to be made to eradicate the plague.
The infestation is thought to have been caused by a colony of abandoned cats near the school.
