Ronda Council has started work on improving the access roads to many of the wineries, a project valued at €150,000.
Ronda is working towards having its own Wine Route certified by Acevin (Asociación Española de Ciudades del Vino – Spanish Association of Wine Cities). The wineries themselves are keen to promote wine tourism in the area and have been pressing for improvements to the rural roads.
Most, but by no means all, of the access roads will be improved under the project and the Council hopes to continue the work in the future. The current works will variously involve asphalting, concreting and the installation of drains and gullies.
