The statisticians have been busy and we now know that almost 4,000 people have visited the Nerja Caves Information Office in calle Carmen since it opened in March 2013 and that 45% of these were foreign nationals.
Of the foreign nationals, roughly 35% were from the United Kingdom followed by 12.6% from Germany and 4.75% from Sweden.
The office was visited by nationals from 44 countries including New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Madagascar.
As far as national visitors (55%) were concerned, tourists from Andalucia and Madrid topped the rankings, each accounting for 29%, followed by Cataluña with 10% and smaller numbers from País Vasco, Castilla La Mancha, Galicia and Castilla-León.
