The Food Bank has launched its biggest campaign of the year to collect food for Christmas for 150,000 people in need.
The objective is to solicit the help of 60,000 volunteers to collect 10 million kilos of food to feed 150,000 people. In addition to food, the Bank is looking for financial contributions, every euro received being multiplied by one hundred.
Last year, three million euros resulted in the purchase of 104,000 tons of foodstuffs which, if purchased retail in the shops, would have cost 280 million euros.
