The PP government has presented a motion requesting the Junta de Andalucia to make provision in its budget for 2014 for a number of Nerja projects deemed to be outstanding, these including the Health Centre, Fire Station and the Employment and Training Centre.
The motion calls for €1.5 million to be allocated for the Health Centre, €1.2 million for the Fire Station and €1.2 million for the construction and implementation of the Employment and Training Centre.
The Junta de Andalucia has a budget for 2014 of €30 billion which, according to the Councillor for Finance, is sufficient to allow for the completion of these projects.
However, the Council fears that the Junta de Andalucia will almost certainly not include provision for the cited projects, although noting that the budget has not yet been broken down to provincial level, let alone to municipal level.
The motion, as one would expect, did not have the support of the opposition PSOE and IU.
