The vice president of the Junta de Andalucia and delegate for Local Government and Institutional Relations, Diego Valderas, has announced that Andalucia is to become the first autonomous region in Spain to guarantee water and power to those receiving the minimum ‘social wage’.
A draft decree has been prepared by a group of professors who began working on the project in September.
The new law seeks to establish a guarantee of at least 100 litres of free drinking water per day and for those with a power contract, a minimum of 1,400 kilowatts of electricity per year.
