The roadworks at the bottom of avenida Castilla Perez are in full swing but the signposting could perhaps do with a bit more thought as many puzzled drivers have been turning down calle Almirante Carranza in error….only to be met by oncoming traffic.
A few decent, large ‘Diversion’ arrows (or even signs) would not go amiss on such occasions. Nothing elaborate, just something a bit more obvious.
The other strange, although cheap I grant you, system is sticking a typewritten A4 notification sheet to large yellow police signs. Without stopping, getting out of the vehicle and going to read the note you do not know if it is a temporary parking restriction due to a parade, site for a skip, major roadworks or any other of a number of temporary inconveniences.
These A4 sheets can become easily obscured, as occurred on Sunday evening, and unsuspecting motorists end up being towed. And, of course, fined. As they were.
