Residents in Álora have once again been requesting the reconstruction of a bridge destroyed by flood waters in September last year.
The bridge is on the access road to the AVE tunnels and residents claim that not only has this led to communication problems between various rural areas but that it could eventually lead to serious consequences should an accident occur in the area.
The road is an integral part of emergency plans in the case of an accident in the AVE tunnels, the only other possible access route being unsuitable for heavy vehicles.
The Council has apparently already requested, in writing and in person, a solution to the problem but the organisation responsible, ADIF, has reportedly always responded by saying it has no money.
Some local residents have to make long detours when travelling in the area due to the continued lack of a bridge.
