The UGT Andalucia has denounced the internal deletion of 1,756 administrative accounting files and the copying of 22,400 files from computers belonging the the organisation, with proceedings being opened against three union employees.
The incident makes it more difficult for an investigation being carried out in connection with alleged irregularities in the management of training funds.
Two of the workers have already been reprimanded and the third is the subject of an open investigation. The secretary of the UGT Andalucia, Manuel Ferrer, fears that the public will interpret the incidents as an attempt to cover up the irregularities.
Ferrer stated, however, that the union will pursue the matter via the courts once sufficient evidence has been gathered.
