Three youths aged between 21 years and 24 years have been arrested in Vélez-Málaga on suspicion of stealing 400 kilos of avocados from a farm on the camino de la Rivera.
The investigation began on November 22nd after a local resident reported the theft of avocados from his farm. Initial enquiries led to the identification of the vehicle used in the theft, which then led to the owner.
Police then identified two other individuals allegedly involved in the theft of the fruit. The three young men told police that they were walking their dogs when they decided to steal the fruit.
Police also located the place where the stolen avocados were sold, in Algarrobo.
