The president of the Asociación Centro Comercial Abierto de Nerja, Enrique López Cuneca, and the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, have signed an agreement which will allow more Christmas lights to put up at various points around the town.
The Association will be responsible for the assembly, disassembly and paperwork for 21 sets of lights to be erected in calle Pintada and calle La Cruz and a further six sets in calle Diputación. The Council will provide a grant of €3,360 towards the assembly and disassembly costs.
The Christmas lighting, which started going up on various roundabouts and squares this week, is in the hands of the company Iluminaciones Rivas who submitted the lowest tender bid of €20,963. This year’s total budget for Christmas lighting is around €6,000 less than the amount spent last year.
