The remodelling of calle Lamo de Espinosa and calle Martínez Catena, carried out at a cost of over €3 million, have been completed and the two new ‘boulevards’ leading to the port are once again open.
The works included significant increases in the size of the pavements, between 5 and 16 metres wide in calle Martinez Catena and between 8 and 11 metres wide in calle Lamo de Espinosa, extensive landscaping, the planting of 138 trees and the installation of LED lighting to save costs and protect the environment.
The underground infrastructure, untouched for the past forty years, has been totally renewed and expanded, all street furniture has been replaced and use has been made of anti-noise ecological asphalt.
