The Brotherhood of Our Lady the Virgen del Carmen – Hermandad de Nuestra Señora Virgen del Carmen – made its debut on Saturday after having been approved by the Diocese.
One of the first acts was to elect a Board of Governors, and this took place at the iglesia El Salvador on the Balcón de Europa. The Board of Governors comprises: David Román (Elder Brother), Francisco Prieto (deputy Elder Brother), Daniel Rodríguez (Secretary), Bonifacio Carretero (Treasurer), Francisco Gálvez (Prosecutor) and Antonio López (General Executor).
The event was attended by numerous officials and representatives of organisations and institutions and was described by the pastor of the El Salvador church, Andrés Pérez, as ‘an historic moment’.
The members of the Board of Governors received medals and a memento of the occasion and medals were also handed out to various individuals who assisted in making the event possible.
