The Councillor for Participation, Social Services, Disability, Immigration and Cooperation in Alcorcón, Madrid, María Pilar Araque, has resigned her position following her arrest on Christmas Eve for running over and seriously injuring a 78-year-old woman.
The incident occurred on Christmas Eve in the district of Parque de Lisboa in Alorcón. The victim, a 78-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries after being run over.
The Councillor tested positive for alcohol – three times the legal limit – and was arrested, charged and then released on bail.
