As was to be expected, the Council approved a motion requesting the provincial delegate for Education to take the necessary steps to make the school in Fuente del Baden, Nerja, a more attractive proposition for parents when it comes time to select a school for their children.
The school has places for 50 pupils, but is now down to 40 and the Council believes that if the regional government maintains its existing education policy then the facility may end up having to close. There are 10 teachers at the school.
The motion only had the support of the ruling PP government.
