The FITUR tourist fair was the backdrop for the presentation of an agreement signed between Nerja Council and the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), the aims of which are to to boost competitiveness and innovation in small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the tourism sector through information and communication technologies and training.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, made a speech in which he stated that the Council has opted for a clear policy of developing tourism resources and continues to work on a strategic tourism plan, adding that the increasing demand for quality requires the constant updating of the mechanisms that new technologies offer for innovation and the commercialization of small businesses.
The Mayor also noted that Nerja has two important protected areas, which will enable the implementation of tourism resources, such as a golf course and marina.
The EOI has a budget of €800,000.
