A couple have been arrested in Torremolinos for allegedly stealing a number of items from their neighbours, some of the goods being put up for sale on the internet.
An investigation began in December 2013 after a woman complained that items had been stolen from her house. Police located a website where some of the stolen goods were being offered for sale and they identified the seller as being someone who had recently moved into the house next door to the victim.
The couple, a 33-year-old Spaniard and a 26-year-old Paraguayan, had been evicted from their previous home. The police investigation revealed that prior to their eviction the couple had filed a complaint of robbery in which they were the alleged victims.
At the new home of the couple, police found items belonging to their neighbours as well as items allegedly stolen during the robbery in which they claimed to have been victims. The couple were then also charged with simulating and falsely reporting a crime.
