A wave of robberies at night in the town of Coín have forced the Council to institute night patrols by the Local Police force.
The Council has acknowledged the rise in crime but believe the thefts to be the work of organised gangs and an ‘isolated incident’, despite the thefts apparently occurring over a number of weeks.
Nightly foot patrol by Local Police officers have already started in the centre of the town and the Guardia Civil is also increasing surveillance in outer areas. Both forces are now cooperating in order to trace the culprits.
