The Junta de Andalucia activated the Emergency Plan for the Transport of Goods by Rail on Friday morning after a freight train carrying ammonia was derailed on the Huelva-Zafra line.
The derailment, thought at the moment to have been caused by a landslide on the track, occurred at 3.44 at km 79,900 in the municipality of La Nava.
The train was hauling 18 wagons of ammonia, with 40 tons in each. Firemen have reported that there is a small discharge from one of the tanks.
There are no reports of any injuries.
