A primary school teacher in Montseny, Barcelona, has been accused of sexually abusing six girls aged between 6 and 8 years at two schools in a rural area of Montseny.
The case actually began last February when one of the girls told her mother that one of the teachers had been abusing her. The girl underwent a medical examination at Can Ruti hospital in Badalona to try and establish whether the story was true and in July 2013, the families of several other girls finally made official complaints to a judge about sexual assaults at the schools.
The teacher was accused of sexual assault by the judge and was removed from his teaching post. Several of the girls involved have changed schools after psychologists recommended this as a means of avoiding the memory of the abuse.
