The Nerja Caves Foundation has launched an educational programme aimed at pupils from the second to sixth grade and involving students from a number of municipalities.
The idea is to present the history of the caves in a pleasant and attractive way and the first session, entitled ‘Journey to the beginning of time’ was presented by the theatre group La Carpa,
The actors showed, in an interactive way, how the caves were discovered, how the inhabitants prepared their meals, how they painted, how they lived in general and even how they buried their dead.
After the performance there were workshops relating to hunting, making beads, painting and various other activities, ending with a ‘Cave Party’.
The next similar events are scheduled for March 13th and 14th and April 4th. Subsequently, between April 7th and 10th there will be a series of educational concerts.
Two further events, under the title ‘My first museum’, will take place on March 14th and April 22nd.
