Work began today, Tuesday, to repair the regular storm damage to Ferrara Playa in Torrox Costa, although this year is a bit different as a breakwater is being constructed.
Ferrara Playa is always badly affected by inclement weather and the authorities have been requesting a solution to the problem for many years.
The work is concentrated at the westernmost end of the beach with an earthen breakwater being build. A dozen trucks, a bulldozer and a tractor are on the site, with aggregates being dumped straight into the sea to establish the breakwater.
