A Guardia Civil officer stationed in Algarrobo has been arrested and charged with an alleged crime against the public health following an investigation into drug trafficking.
Last Friday, eight people were arrested after being caught red-handed unloading drugs at a secluded cove in Maro. Two of those arrested were residents of Nerja. Police seized fifty bales of hashish weighing a total of 1,500 kilos.
The officer was arrested the following day and, after appearing in court, was released on bail. The remaining detainees were sent to prison.
