The Court of Contentious Administration Number 4 in Málaga has reportedly dismissed an appeal by the Larios Sugar Company (Sociedad Azucarera Larios) to have work on the access road to the future Fire Station halted.
Larios argued that the access road infringed upon private land and wanted work to cease. Reports submitted to Larios by Nerja Council indicated that the works did not occupy private land and the Court agreed with this interpretation.
According to the Councillor for Infrastructure, work on the access road for the future Fire Station is proceeding on schedule, although there is as yet no sign of the actual Fire Station on the horizon.
The Nerja Council and Málaga Provincial Council have offered to advance the funding for the project due to the indifference of the Junta de Andalucia, just to get things started, although they would expect to be reimbursed at a later date.
