A woman found dead yesterday morning on Son Baluó beach in Son Servera, Mallorca, died from asphyxiation at around 07:00, according to preliminary reports.
The woman, possible foreign and aged between 35 and 45 years has yet to be identified as she was carrying no documentation and no-one has filed a missing persons report.
The body was found at 07:30 by someone walking along the beach. Footprints left in the sand suggest the body was dragged for a few metres.
An autopsy revealed that the woman died from asphyxiation, although she also suffered a strong blow to the head. The investigation is currently focused on identifying the victim.
