An attempted robbery at a grocery store in calle Santa Clara in the Zaidín district of Granada on Saturday left one of the alleged robbers dead and the shop owner wounded.
At 08:54 on Saturday, two alleged robbers, armed with knives, entered the grocery store. As the robbery unfolded, the owner of the shop, a Chinese national, snatched one of the knives from the attackers, stabbing and killing one of them.
The second robber then struck the shop owner before fleeing the scene. The robber later surrendered to police.
Both the surviving attacker and the shop owner, who was taken to the Hospital Clinico for treatment to his wounds, have been detained.
