An Italian tourist died and nine others were injured, two of them seriously, when they were run over by the coach in which they were travelling in the south of Gran Canaria.
The tourists had arrived on a cruise ship and several had alighted on the GC-60 between Fataga and Tunte. After the group got off the bus, the driver reversed the vehicle to negotiate a curve, unaware that the group had not moved off but were actually standing behind his vehicle.
An Italian tourist died and nine others were injured in the incident. Two of the wounded suffered serious head and chest injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital in the capital.
