King Mohamed VI of Morocco has finally ratified the fishing agreement reached with the EU, paving the way for Spanish fishermen to return to Moroccan waters.
All that now remains is to request specific licences for the fishermen and they can go about their business after a two year hiatus. The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Elena Viboras, hoped that the vessels could return to Moroccan waters ‘as soon as possible’.
The fishing fleet in Barbate is one of the major beneficiaries of the agreement.
