Sunday March 30th is the very first Día de la Miel de Caña – Day of the Sugar Cane Honey – in Frigiliana, with entertainment throughout the day and various tastings.
Frigiliana is home to the only factory still producing honey in this manner. The festivities begin at 12:00 with a performance by the Municipal Band and from 12:30 until 21:00, various dance groups will take to the stage to provide the entertainment.
There will be helpings of honey and also the sugar cane juice and seven restaurants in the area will be providing special menus with honey as its star ingredient.
There will also be the official presentation of the book ‘La miel de caña en la cocina tradicional y creativa’, written by Fernando Rueda and containing fifty recipes by well-known Málaga chefs.
