The number of people officially registered as unemployed with the Public Employment Office (former INEM) fell by 0.35% during March 2014 compared to the previous month, the biggest decline for March since 2006.
Official unemployment fell in thirteen regions in Spain, Valencia leading the way with 5,902 fewer people out of work. Several regions, however, registered an increase in official unemployment during March with Andalucia leading the way with 10,060 more people joining the ranks of the unemployed.
Andalucia was followed by Pais Vasco with 2,112 more people out of work.
