The authorities believe that one gang is responsible for break-ins at four perfume shops during the past month in Antequera, Vélez-Málaga, Rincón de la Victoria and Nerja.
In three cases the gang smashed the windows of the shops and within minutes made off with top value perfumes and creams. In one instance, in Nerja, the gang gained entry by forcing the shutters to the premises rather than smashing the window. The end result, however, was the same, perfumes and creams stolen.
The total value of goods stolen in the four raids is put at around €200,000. In Nerja, a local resident called the Local Police and Guardia Civil to report a noise at the shop in avenida Castilla Perez but when officers arrived there was no sign of the robbers. The thieves had emptied the shop of top brand perfumes and creams and fled the scene.
