The body of an Iberian Lynx was found on the A-4 in the municipality of Villanueva de la Reina, Jaén province, the fifth such incident this year in Andalucia.
The body was found at around 02:00 by a crew of maintenance workers and an autopsy is being carried out at the Centre for Analysis and Diagnosis of Wildlife (CAD).
This is the fifth specimen of this highly endangered species to be found dead so far this year in Andalucia, the previous ones being on the N-420 i Azuel (Córdoba), on the N-483 in Almonte (Huelva), on the railway line Guarrizas (Jaén) and in Montoro (Córdoba).
