Four young kidnap victims, young Chinese nationals, have been freed and several suspected members of the kidnap gang have been arrested by the National Police in Málaga province.
The four young men were kidnapped in Benalmádena in the early hours of Monday morning. They were bundled into a van by armed men and threatened with violence if they resisted. They were held for several hours as the kidnappers allegedly demanded €2,500 each for their release.
The kidnappers left three of the youths in a building in Benalmádena after the families paid the ransom. Police managed to locate the building where the fourth victim was being held and he was rescued by the police. All four victims were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during their ordeal.
The police investigation led to the arrest of several suspected members of the kidnap gang.
