An excellent performance from Real Madrid as they beat Bayern Munich 0-4 to progress to the final of the Champions League for the first time in twelve years.
No-one was expecting Real to score four in Germany, but they did. And a far less likely prediction would have been the first two goals coming from Sergio Ramos, both headers. Ronaldo scored the other two.
Bayern dominated possession, the Guardiola trademark, but seemed almost afraid to shoot unless they were in the six yard box, continuing to pass the ball back and forth until it was taken from them.
Alonso will miss the final after a rather impetuous and stupid challenge got him a yellow card, particularly as Real were leading 3-0 at the time and in no danger. Earlier, two-goal Sergio Ramos was extremely lucky not to receive at least a yellow card for another crazy tackle which would also have seen him miss out on the final.
