A 43-year-old man has been arrested in Vélez-Málaga for allegedly stealing an ambulance with four patients in the back.
The ambulance had been left with the motor running while the driver was collecting some documentation and suddenly it was off. When the patients queried what was going on the alleged thief, shirtless and shoeless, told them to buckle up as he was a wounded officer on a secret mission.
He then activated the lights and siren and pretended to be talking on the radio to the police.
He was soon stopped and arrested and was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving. No-one was hurt in the incident.
