Dogs love beaches, and Málaga will this weekend have a beach where owners and their canine companions can coexist without fear of retribution.
Areas such as La Malagueta and Guadalmar were under consideration but it was finally decided that La Araña, bordering the arroyo Totalán between Málaga and Rincón de la Victoria, would be the best location and suitable furnishings are currently being installed.
The rules are similar to those in place in dog parks. The animals must be under control at all times, dogs weighing over twenty kilos must be muzzled and owners need to carry the relevant documentation relating to their pooches.
This will be the fourth beach in Málaga province where people and animals can enjoy the beach and swim together, the others being in Casares, Fuengirola and Mijas.
