A total of 64 illegal immigrants, including 5 children under the age of four years, have arrived in Motril after their small inflatable boat was intercepted five miles south of the Isla de Alborán.
Most of the passengers displayed symptoms of hypothermia and a pregnant woman and a man with a severe dislocation had to be transferred to hospital.
The remainder of the passengers were assisted by the Red Cross and are now in the hands of the National Police before being transferred to an internment centre.
Twenty-four hours earlier, another eight North African migrants were intercepted about nine miles south of Castell de Ferro in Granada province.
