A man died on Monday morning after being subdued and arrested by Local Police officers in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Barcelona.
Police were called to the Can Estella early on Monday morning after someone reported an aggressive character hanging around. Police arrived to find the man arguing with a security guard on the estate but he then tried to run off. In attempting to escape the man, a Spanish national aged 35 years, fell to the ground and hit his head, according to the police.
The suspect apparently continued to resist, striking out at officers, and he was subdued and handcuffed. At some point the officers noticed that the man had become unconscious and they performed CPR, but to no avail. When the Cataln Police – Mossos d’Esquadra – arrived on the scene the man was dead.
An autopsy is being carried out to determine the cause of death.
