A 56-year-old man has been arrested in Vélez-Málaga for allegedly threatening to kill a couple and their disabled son.
Police were called to calle Adeodato Altamirano where it had been reported that a man was threatening to kill three people. Upon arrival of the police patrol the individual began to threaten the officers, claiming he would kill the three people if they did not leave.
Reinforcements were summoned and the individual subsequently began threatening the officers with the a knife and a metal bar.
The man was eventually subdued and was taken for a medical examination at the local Health Centre where it suddenly became apparent that he had a small knife hidden in his mouth with which it is thought he intended to harm himself.
The knife was snatched from him and he was taken to the National Police station for processing.
