All good things come to an end, as so it seems to be for Spanish domination in football as they exit the World Cup after two comprehensive defeats, 5-1 against Holland and 2-0 against Chile.
Spain were 2-0 down at half time after goals from Vargas (19 mins) and Aránguiz (43 mins), having been outplayed by a Chile side which chased and fought for every ball.
Spain improved no end in the second half as they increased their pace and abandoned the agonisingly slow, tika-taka style which once served them so well.
