The Virgen de las Maravillas school in Maro has earned the status of ‘Learning Community (Comunidad de Aprendizaje), a project that uses participatory methodologies for the teaching-learning process and does not rely solely upon traditional teachers.
Not long ago the school was on the brink of closure due tom a lack of students, but is now full and with a waiting list for places since adopting the new methodology.
Teachers, associations – such as Club de Leones, Aneda, La Aventura de Escribir and Anac -, professionals and parents all contribute to, and participate in, the teaching-learning process.
