The Councillor for Beaches has reported that hundreds of nails have been collected from El Playazo beach by the municipal cleaning department following the Noche de San Juan celebrations, the result of anti-social behaviour according to the Councillor.
Although it was prohibited to use pallets or other items containing nails for the traditional fires, it appears that this was ignored by a number of revellers. Rusty nails in the sand is not an ideal scenario.
On the other hand, there have also been claims of an over-zealous approach this year by the authorities to music being played on El Playazo beach during the festivities.
