There was actually some activity behind Calahonda beach, about the first time since the day the project to install special lighting began a couple of months ago. The project had a completion period of four months.

I suppose one shouldn’t be amazed, but the number of drivers, in private cars and delivery trucks, who have a mobile phone permanently to their ear or, in some cases, in front of them as they text. Quite worrying, particularly at the speeds some of them travel down narrow streets.
No wonder we get an extra ‘niff’ during the summer as many of the rubbish containers are chock full by midday. One assumes that one of the main reasons for the authorities imposing a 21:00 or 22:00 time for depositing garbage is to prevent fermentation in the heat of summer.
Even when the bins are emptied daily, which they are in most places, the contents are now ripening for twelve hours or more. Totally unnecessary, and unhealthy.
