The president of a hunting club has been arrested as the suspected author of a fire which broke out in Almogia on Sunday which destroyed fifteen hectares of land.
The car owned by the club president was reportedly seen in the area at the time of the fire and matches and wicks were found in his vehicle. Police are trying to ascertain whether the man, a resident of Estación de Cártama, was preparing to light new fires.
The fire in Almogia began at around 17:30 on Sunday and was extinguished at 23:45, but not before it had destroyed fifteen hectares of scrub. The detainee is apparently the president of a hunting club in Álora.
