The National Police in Ronda have arrested a 41-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of two armed robberies committed at a bar and a bakery on the same day.
The first robbery was at a bar. The man, with a black scarf covering his face, entered the bar and asked the manager to lend him ten euros. When the manager refused, the robber brandished a knife, went behind the bar and demanded that the till be opened.
The thief apparently took around €500 from the till and relieved the manager of his wallet. Police were able to identify the culprit, a man with a criminal record, and set about catching him.
The same robber then carried out a second robbery, this time at a bakery. Once again he threatened staff with a knife to force them to open the till. He was finally apprehended in calle Jerez and arrested. He has been remanded in custody.
