José León from Viso el Alcor in Sevilla province was proclaimed winner of the II Certamen Jóvenes Voces del Flamenco, held in la Plaza del Olvido, Nerja, on Saturday night.
The singer, aged 28 years, already has an extensive track record in the music business and has performed in numerous venues, both nationally and internationally.
José Antonio Conejo, a 16-year-old known musically as Niño Chaparro and hailing from Málaga, was awarded a special mention by the competition jury.
The event was organised by the Asociación Cultural Ventana Abierta.
